Año 63 de la Revolución
Estimados amigos:
En pocos días celebraremos el 169 aniversario del natalicio del Apóstol José Martí, Héroe Nacional de Cuba, en cuyo pensamiento se encuentra la base humanista del proyecto revolucionario cubano, que ha hecho suya la máxima de que Patria es Humanidad extendiendo su mano solidaria a aquel que lo necesite.
Las ideas del más universal de los cubanos resultan un incentivo para continuar la lucha por los ideales de justicia por los que ofrendara su vida, en momentos en que el mundo está siendo azotado por una terrible pandemia que ha hecho aflorar lo mejor de los seres humanos, pero que también ha evidenciado y profundizado las desigualdades a escala universal.
En este contexto, el enemigo histórico de los pueblos, el imperialismo que el propio apóstol calificara como un monstruo, no ha cesado en su afán de doblegar a la soberana e independiente Cuba y ha arreciado en su política de castigo, sometiendo a nuestro pueblo a un férreo, recrudecido y genocida bloqueo que no ha entendido ni de razones humanitarias y de otros intereses menos altruistas, pero igual convenientes incluso para sí mismo.
El aniversario del natalicio de nuestro Héroe Nacional, ha sido motivo de tradicional celebración entre los amigos de Cuba. En esta ocasión los convocamos a que lo hagan mediante acciones presenciales y virtuales, actos, cantatas, ofrendas florales en bustos y otras iniciativas, con una motivación especial: dar inicio a la jornada mundial de homenajes por el 170 aniversario de su nacimiento el próximo año 2023, cuyo colofón será la celebración en La Habana de la V Conferencia Internacional Por el Equilibrio del Mundo, del 24 al 28 de enero.
José Martí, fue un promotor incansable de la solidaridad, la hermandad, el respeto y la paz entre los pueblos del mundo. Hagamos nuestro, en pensamiento y acción, el legado del Maestro.

Dear Friends:
In few days, we will celebrate the 169th birth anniversary of the Apostle José Martí, National Hero of Cuba, in whose thought lies the humanist basis of the Cuban revolutionary project, which has endorsed the maxim that Homeland is Humanity, extending its solidarity hand to anyone in need.
The thinking of the most universal of all Cubans is an encouragement to continue the fight for the ideals of justice he offered his life for, at a time when the world is being hit by a terrible pandemic that has brought out the best of human beings, but has also highlighted and deepened inequalities on a universal scale.
In this context, the historical enemy of the peoples, imperialism, which the apostle himself described as a monster, has not ceased in the desire to bring sovereign and independent Cuba to its knees and has intensified its policy of punishment, subjecting our people to a fierce, intensified and genocidal blockade that has not understood humanitarian reasons and other less altruistic interests, but just as convenient even for itself.
The birth anniversary of our National Hero has been the reason for a traditional celebration among friends of Cuba. On this occasion, we invite you to do it through face-to-face and virtual actions, events, cantatas, wreath-laying at statues and other initiatives, with a special motivation: to start the worldwide campaign of tributes for the 170th anniversary of his birth next year 2023, its conclusion will be the celebration in Havana of the V International Conference for World Balance, to be held from 24 to 28 of January.
José Martí was a tireless promoter of solidarity, brotherhood, respect and peace among the peoples of the world. Let us make ours, in thought and action, the Teacher’s legacy.
